The University of Oregon uses a holistic review process when making our admissions decisions. Though academic performance is important, we also consider strength of curriculum, English proficiency, grade trend, and other factors.

Freshman admission

For admission consideration, students from the Chinese/Hong Konger education system should have an average high school academic performance according to the following:

  • Applicants graduating in 2012 and after must have at least 3 on a 5-point scale or C on the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Exam (HKDSE).
  • Applicants who graduated in 2011 or before and have completed their A-levels (HKALE), must have passed two A-level subjects and five Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) subjects (including English and math).
  • Applicants who have not taken the A-levels and have only completed the HKCEE must have passed English, math, and three additional academic subjects with a combined minimum average of B.

If your secondary school uses a different grading scale, please contact us.
