Alma Mater: I graduated from the University of Oregon in 2023 with a BA in Political Science and History, minored in Writing, Public Speaking, and Critical Reasoning.
What is your best advice for high school students looking to attend college?: Please use all the resources available to you and ask a lot of questions! I did not do this, and it made the college admissions process much more difficult than it should be. If I could go back in time, I would have connected with my high school college counselor and admissions counselors at the schools I was applying to.
Do you have a particular favorite UO "fun fact"?: We have a carillon bell system on campus at the Erb Memorial Union. You can hear the chimes every fifteen minutes to mark the time, and it plays the fight song, Mighty Oregon, at noon and 6:00 p.m.
What's your favorite place to hang out on the UO campus or in Eugene, and why? : I love to get food at one of the restaurants on 19th and Agate. It鈥檚 a five-minute walk from campus and includes some of my favorite spots in Eugene鈥擬cMenamins, Prince Puckler鈥檚, Sweet Life, Studio One, Agate Alley, and Hey Neighbor. There鈥檚 something tasty for everyone. I love to get ice cream or a sweet treat and walk over to Washburne Park to chat with friends.
Do you have any special skills, talents, interests, or hobbies? : In my free time, I love to read and go for walks around campus or in the surrounding neighborhoods. I am also a big football fan and love attending the UO football games in Autzen Stadium.
If you didn't work in admissions what would you be doing instead?: My dream would be to be able to be a student for free for the rest of my life. I would probably focus on history but would also love to be able to learn things in every subject area, from biology to philosophy to foreign languages.
